A life of meaningful work is a journey, not a destination.
How do you find your right community and meaningful work where you thrive? Versus, jumping through a bunch of hoops for credibility to find joy and happiness at some time in the future?
Do you read your resume like tokens of credibility
or
read it as the expanding valuable impact of who you are and that you are having?
Creating tokens of credibility is us playing the “outside-in game”, believing that if we can somehow get the right ‘cred’ we will be valued and find happiness. With this approach we often experience a feeling of boom and bust, when at times things are going well, we are super excited and on-path, while other times things aren’t going well, we don’t know why, and we feel off-path. Typically, there is an overall feeling of hollowness as we just don’t feel the energy for what we are doing and are asking ourselves ‘is there something more?’.
In contrast, when we expand the impact of us, we are pursuing an “inside-out game”. We know the common core of what energizes us and we are inspired by its next expression. With this clarity we create our own path by either building or joining a community that we can advance the new things we are excited about.
In order to expand the impact of us, we need to know the source of our energy, our own innate cause that we are continually bringing into expression. Our cause is what we have a deep commitment and conviction for because we just know it will enrich life.
When we connect with the right communities, we are together in a common cause and working toward making the future better in some meaningful way. In these communities we also know we are appreciated and valued for being ‘us’. With this foundation of ‘right community’, we are inspired to continually expand our expression and be an even better version of ourselves. The result of this approach is increasing levels of pride and confidence in our contribution and gives us the courage and encouragement to create the next inspired expression of our meaningful and valuable impact.
Make Meaningful Work A Conscious Choice
A creatively energized life and work of ever expanding valuable impact is a conscious and concerted choice. Pursuing this choice requires a person to do their necessary personal work to uncover their cause and be equipped to lead themselves.
Each of us has within us a valuable impact just waiting to be unleashed.
